** BA Any teacher without a minimum of a preliminary credential, regardless of the number of units required. May include Permit, Intern and Pre-Intern. Any teacher placed on the BA Column who acquires a preliminary credential during the school year, may apply units that have been submitted to the District Office by September 10th of that school year for qualification of placement on the salary schedule.

Any teacher with a preliminary credential with less than 30 units above the BA shall be paid $34,000.

BA+30 Column (2) Any teacher with a preliminary credential plus 30 units above the BA degree.

Teachers shall be given credit on a year for year basis at the time of initial placement on the salary schedule for previous full-time teaching experience.

In order to receive credit for units earned in terms of salary determinations, the District Office must have in its possession by September 10th of each year, official documentation verifying the completion of the units. No more than 18 units may be earned for salary schedule placement purposes in any given year by a Certificated person working full-time. Certificated personnel working less than full-time may earn more than 18 units.

For salary purposes, units must be conferred by an accredited college/university for courses that are directly related to teaching, or must be conferred by the Mother Lode Union School District.

If there is an issue as to whether or not the units submitted are directly related to teaching, a committee of three (3) teachers appointed by the Association and three (3) administrators apponted by the Superintendent shall decide the issue. A secret ballot requiring a majority vote shall be necessary for the approval of any units in question. Any administrator may grant prior written approval.
